Forecast had looked promising all week so made sure I had the Sunday free for some Kitesurfing.
Yesterdays forecast was for lightish Southerlies along the North West coast whilst in the middle of the Irish sea, it would be far stronger.
Just checked XC weather and it was showing the buoy of the Fylde coast 20 miles out at sea never dropping below 20 knots whilst at St. Annes it never peaked above 15 knots. How annoying. the forecast was spot on though. It was the same forecast issued back on Wed 5 days ago so impressive stuff.

As for the session, there were a good 20 or so other kiters out mostly on 12's so I opted for the old CO2 as opposed to my 9m as there simply wasn't enough wind.

What a bag of shite it is! In the gusts I was being overpowered and dragged downwind, then when it was light, I was really struggling to stay upwind. There was some guy on a Liquid Force 9m who was managing to stay upwind as much as I could in the light conditions. Very frustrating day and unfortunately the wind never materialised. Roll on next weekend now.
